"All these beauties will already be familiar to the visitor, who has seen them also in other cities."
- Italo Calvino, Invisible Cities
Phone City is a photographic essay of New Yorkers interacting with their devices in various environments around the city. I explored ways in which humans interact with smartphones, and with other humans through smartphones, distracted from their physical environment. I worked on a mix of staged and street photographs for this project throughout the month of February 2018. It was published on Newest York's 15th issue, A Bigger Screen.
